2016 Painted Pumpkins raises a record $8,455 for the Centre
The pumpkin truck rolled up outside the new location of the GBCSC on Main St in Penetanguishene on September 27th. There were pumpkins in the back and pumpkins in the front, riding shotgun – 500 in all. We put the old house to new use with pumpkin washing, painting and decorating during the week of September 27th. A huge crew converged on the Saturday, October 1st and all 500 pumpkins were decorated in record time.
Jamie Tripp, of Tripp’s Painting Shoppe not only donated all the paint but wielded his mighty (heavy) spray gun and over several hours, painted nearly 400 pumpkins. An epic feat!
And speaking of epic, due to the dedication and hard work of our sales team, headed by MacKena and Jackie Murray, a record $8,455 was raised for the Centre. And that’s after all the expenses had been accounted for. We also owe a debt of thanks to Kelly Moss of Kelly Moss Photography for her sponsorship.
We are truly grateful to MacKena for spearheading this annual event and to the community for embracing it.
