Our future home

GBCSC Secures a New Location

After a two-year search for the perfect “home away from home” that was envisioned from the start, we are delighted to announce that a new location has been secured for our future. Centrally located in Penetanguishene, this charming century-plus home will form the nucleus of the new Centre. And at last we are able to answer the question, “What’s going to happen to the Centre?”

Just around the corner from our current location, 143 Main St in Penetanguishene is centrally located across from the Village Square Mall, Tim Horton’s and close to three banks and many services. The new location and added exposure will ensure that citizens and guests to the area will be aware that local cancer support is available to them.

There’s much work to be done to renovate and expand the footprint so that we will have sufficient room for our programs and services now and into the future.  Timing is dependent on many factors and subject to change. We are hoping for a spring 2017 move date and we’ll keep everyone posted on our progress as we work toward completion of our most exciting project yet.

It’s been five years since our doors opened and the need for local cancer support just continues to grow. With the generosity of our benefactors and the community we serve, we are looking forward to the future with great enthusiasm. Please follow us on our journey as we continue to bring hope and comfort to those among us who are living with cancer today.

Curious about the new building?

Please drop by 143 Main St. on Tuesday, August 9th between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. There is limited parking on the property. Kindly DO NOT park at the Scotiabank. If you park at the Mall, take care crossing the road.
