The Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre (GBCSC) is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Funds received under this grant will be dedicated to staffing requirements in support of our fundraising and Capital Campaign goals for a three-year period.

We are now in our fourth year of providing hope and caring support in North Simcoe for all who are living with cancer and for their families and caregivers.

Since opening in March 2011 as a charitable organization, we have relied on the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community to keep our doors open, enabling us to provide our programs and services for free. As the number of community members who access the GBCSC grows, our ongoing need for funding grows also. And now we are embarking on an additional challenge – to find a new home for the Centre. Our Capital Campaign will raise funds for our permanent location, one that nurtures the soul and provides hope and support to our members – a true “home away from home”.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation grant will provide the GBCSC with the ability to dedicate resources to the tasks of building a sustainable donor base and managing the Capital Campaign. Our goals cannot succeed without the continued generosity of our donors and the community we serve. We have come this far through the vision of our founder, Sandy Cornell, the financial support of our benefactors, the community and the tireless contributions of our volunteers.

With the help of the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre is on the way to ensuring that hope will continue to live here.
