GBCSC Receives Largest Donation Ever from The Weber Foundation

The GBCSC on July 2, 2024 was honoured to receive its largest donation in its history thanks to the generosity of local philanthropist Reinhart Weber and the Weber Foundation.

Along with a number of other charities, Executive Director Eric Walter was present at the Midland Cultural Centre on that day to receive a $500,000 gift from the Foundation. The Weber Foundation not only a key contributor to our Home for Hope build five years ago, which has also given over $50 million to charities across the region to date, including the close to $23 million that was gifted last week.

The significant contribution will support local individuals and families fighting cancer for years to come, as the entire value of the donation will remain invested in an endowment fund with the foundation so that it may continue to grow. As a result, the return on those invested funds will support the organization’s operating costs, while the $500,000 will remain intact.
