Cancer Talks: SPeaker Series

1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 12:00pm.

An opportunity for Members to get together and learn from various topic experts in the community. Subjects covered in the past include: Navigating Terminal Cancer, Parenthood & a Career; Grief, Loss, and Resistance for the Invisible Majority; and Is a Revolution in Cancer Treatment Within Reach? Past speakers have been from Hospice Georgian Triangle, Bayside Wellness, Evolve+Shift, and the Georgian Family Health Team.

Soup for the Soul

1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 12:30pm.

Drop in, enjoy a delicious bowl of nutritious, homemade soup and connect with other Members. This program is a great opportunity for potential or new Members to learn about what the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre can offer and experience the camaraderie and support the GBCSC provides. 


Counselling for Caregivers

1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 2:00pm & 3:00pm.

A cancer diagnosis can be difficult to process, and learning to handle what it comes with is not a part of the traditional healthcare system. To meet the needs of our Caregiver Members, we are offering virtual counselling on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month to discuss and create strategies that can provide relief and assistance to those caring for their loved ones.


Life After Cancer Support Group

1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm.

Join a group of strong, resilient individuals who have lived with cancer or supported a loved one in their cancer journey and support each other as you continue living your life.


Women’s Cancer Support Group

2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 4:30pm.

This group is an opportunity for women who are fighting cancer or still dealing with the mental and emotional impact of their past battle with cancer to connect with others and build strength, skills, and resiliency.


Men’s Cancer Support Group

2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 4:30pm.

This support group is open to all men dealing with cancer and is especially appropriate for those currently fighting or who recently finished treatment. The group works to address the mental and emotional challenges faced by men through the cancer journey and works to build new skills and strategies to manage life moving forward following a cancer diagnosis.

Support Groups in Collingwood are currently being offered at The Journey’s Blend Cafe. The Cafe will be closed to the public during session times to ensure your privacy is respected.
