Local Cancer Support at home in South Georgian Bay

Join us at one of our temporary program sites in Collingwood to connect with others on a similar journey, and access resources to help you navigate life with cancer.

Programs and services are free to access and open to any individual in North Simcoe, South Georgian Bay, and parts of the surrounding communities.

In-Person Programs in Collingwood

Drop-in programs are intended for people currently navigating cancer, either because of their own diagnosis, or the diagnosis of a loved one, and those who are post-treatment and/or in remission, and are working to adapt to their new normal. They offer a welcoming environment to gain new information, and connect with others who may have similar stories to share.

Support Groups

Support groups offer coping strategies, peer support, and an opportunity to connect with others on a similar journey. Groups take place in a safe and supportive environment where you can listen and share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.

Cancer Talks & Soup for the Soul

Hear from engaging and informative guest speakers about relevant topics, followed by lunch and a chance to chat with others who are on their own cancer journey, and staff who can connect you with other valuable resources.

Financial Support

Financial Support for costs associated with travel to and from out-of-town (+25kms) cancer-related appointment, hospital parking, and accommodations is available for those who qualify through the Brian and Anita Millett GAP Fund.

Individual Services

Additional services are available at our Penetanguishene location and available to all members by appointment. The Mission of the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre is to provide emotional, physical, social, spiritual support, education and information as a complement to the medical system for people affected by cancer.

Our vision is to be recognized throughout North Simcoe, South Georgian Bay, and the surrounding communities as a place of hope, comfort, strength and courage.

The Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre acknowledges that we are situated on the traditional land of the Anishinabek people.
