Collingwood Condo Residents Organize Fundraiser to Support GBCSC
The Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre (GBCSC) received a significant donation recently to support its programming and services for those impacted by cancer in the local area. Residents at the Monaco Classic Condominium at 1 Hume Street in Collingwood held a special holiday season fundraiser raising over $13,000 for the GBCSC.
“It’s so satisfying to see people come together behind an idea and make the dream come true of giving back to our community, and it’s this kind of positive support that makes all the hard work worth it,” says Michelle FitzPatrick, a Monaco Outreach Team Member. “The Monaco Outreach Team would like to deeply thank our amazing businesses in town for generously donating to our first major Monaco fundraiser. We couldn’t have done it without you. As well, a huge thank you to the many Residents of Monaco, who not only encouraged us as we worked to put this event together, but then also generously took part in the auction to help raise more money than we ever imagined.”
Dylan Lalande, Executive Director, GBCSC, noted the organization is incredibly grateful for to this meaningful donation.
“It is because of compassionate community members like the Monaco residents that the Georgian Bay Cancer Support Centre is able to continue providing cancer support close to home for those who need it most.”
This past spring the GBCSC opened a location in Collingwood to better address the need for services in the local area for individuals facing cancer and their caregivers. Membership has grown steadily over 2025. To address this growth, new programs and services have also been introduced.
